Brixton Chamber Orchestra Strives To Bring Music To The People With Free “Pavement Performances” In Public Places.
This Was Exemplified By Their Summer Estates Tour July Through To The Beginning of August Earlier This Year.
Early November They Held Their First Fundraiser Event Which Was At Brixton Private Members Club, ‘Upstairs’ At The Department Store. The Orchestra Is Dynamic, Diverse, Versatile And Flexible And On This Occassion It Was An Indoor Event Featurin’ Great Live Orchestral Music Performed By Members of The Local Community. And Mid November They Staged A Magical Orchestral Music Trail Which Was A Musical Treasure Hunt With A Grand Finale At A Secret Location. See Video Extract Below From The Night, Featurin’ Founder, Director And Conductor Matthew O’Keeffe.

In December They Are Tourin’ Again, This Time With A 10 Day ‘Christmas Estates Tour’ To Officially Ring In The Festive Season. It Will Run From Thursday December 9 To Sunday December 19 2021. There 14 Free Performances Makin’ It Their Biggest Tour of The Kind. Marketin’ Director Silas Armstrong Said “BCO Is A Registered Charity And Relies On Donations To Keep Performances Free For The Community.”
The ‘Estate’ Tours Literally Involve The Orchestra Arrivin’ On ‘Estates’ or Nearby Public Spaces And Performin’ Pieces of Classical Music. Community Centres, Church Halls, Public Parks, Public Squares, And Recreational Centres Are Typical. As Well As Brixton Itself Other Areas Covered Include Lambeth (Lambeth Towers Near The Imperial War Museum), Stockwell, And Tulse Hill. This Is A Collaborative Classical Orchestra Keen To Integrate Into The Community And As Such Its USP Is That It Also Embraces Various Other Musical Genres Combinin’ Classical of Course With Christmas Tunes, Disco, Jazz, Ska, Rock n’ Roll And Grime. It Also Hosts Different Vocalists From Time To Time (See Pictures & Video Below).

If Music Be The Food of Love…
As Well As BCO Founder Matthew O’Keeffe Devisin’ A Game of Magical Mystery Trails, Marketin’ Director Silas Delved Into The Game of Love And Matchmakin’ When He Saw The Message Above Left Locally From One Neighbour To Another, Whilst He Was Postin’ Leaflets For The Orchestra’s Summer Estates Tour. He Felt He Just Had To Do A Shout Out For A Musical Couple Who Were So Near Yet So Far.
He Recently Told TheOrator.Press “I Saw It And Said I Must Post It And Connect The Dots.”
So He Posted It On Instagram In The Summer (July 16 2021). “Within 24 Hours A Street Team of Detectives Developed And We Introduced Them To Each Other. We’ve Also Told Them That If They Ever Want To Play With Us They Are Most Welcome. We Are Not Sure At The Moment But They May Even Be Joinin’ Us For Our ‘Christmas‘ Estates Tour.” Ahh! The BCO, Unitin’ Music Lovers!
