Events Dear Boy. Events! ‘Ainsley’s Festive Flavours’ ITV 2pm Christmas Day ~ December 2022

It’s Been A Busy Year For Ainsley Harriott With A Number of New Series Including British Food By The Sea With Grace Dent, The Second Series of Good Mood Food, And A Stint At The British Library In The Spring Talking About His Career Journey & Other Things As Part of The Library’s Annual Food Series.

Now Hot Off The Heels of ‘Ainsley’s World Cup Flavours’ Which Ran From October Up To The Start of The World Cup, Which Finished Earlier This Month, Harriott Rounds The off The Year With Another Series, Called ‘Ainsley’s Festive Flavours’.

Plus He Suggests A Caribbean Palate Pleaser For After Christmas, On Insta. And He Ends The Year On A Sweet Note As Special Guest, Classical Musician Alexi Ffrench Plays Him & His Guests Out At The End of The Show.

And For Those of You Who Can’t Cook or Won’t Cook Because You’ve Had Enough We Are Loving Rudies Jerk Shack Right Now. Sadly It’s Currently Only Available Across London Town. But Throughout The Land This Season Delivery Services Are All Round

The Show-Stopper of Ainsley’s Festive Flavours Was This Pandora Cake Transformed Into An Ice Cream Filled, Meringue Covered, Sparkly Decorated Snow Dome (With Assistance From By LittleHelpers Wine Queen Jilly, Mother Christmas Donna, Panto King Biggins, Alongside Fire-Blower Harriot). To Fit This Tower of Tinsel Time Temptation Jilly Recommended Matusalem Rare Sherry As A Festive Libation To Fit The Ocassion (Available At The Whiskey Exchange).

Alexis Ffrench Describes His Music As Classical Music With Soul & Simultaneously Refuses To Be Restricted By Being Pigeon-Holed. @AlexisFfrench His New Christmas Album Is Out Now

Ainsley’s Festive Flavours 2pm ITV Was A Programming Treat This Christmas Day. The Dishes, Wine Recommendations And Guests-Come-Little-Helpers Were Great. And You Can Catch It On ITV X Whenever You Like (For Festive Food or Party Ideas Any Time of Year).

To Get The Party Started Wine Expert Jilly Goolden Recommeded An English Sparkling Wine Called Definition (See Video Below). And For Tee Total Toasters A Very Affordable Alcohol Free Rose Bubbly By Belle & Co.

English Wine Sparkling Wine ‘Definition’ As Recommended By Jilly Goolden On Ainsley’s Festive Flavours (Above) Is Available At Majestic Wines

When It Comes To Delicious Simple Delicacies Goolden Recommended Chinese Wine The Last Warrior With Boa Buns (Small, Chinese, Steamed, Leavened, Meat or Vegetable Savoury Filled Buns Often Served With A Sweet & Sour Sauce).

Comedian & Actress Donna Preston (@TheDonnaPreston) & Ainsley (@AinsleysFoods) Show off Ainsley’s Pineapple Rum Salsa (With Chilli & Caribbean Curry Powder), Winter Slaw, And An All Spice, Tamarind & Ginger Glazed Ham. (Our Favourite!) Ainsley Asked Donna What He’d Get If He Came Round To Hers For Christmas And She Replied “You’d Get Alot”. Ummm Hmmm! The Famous “What Are You Like?” Came The Reply, As Mrs Christmas Held Her Giggles Down.

Jilly Recommended An Australian Shiraz (Jim Barry, Lodge Hill Shiraz) With “Gorgeous Mulling Spices” & “Absolutely Dazzling Fruit”. Which Is “Really Going To Act Well With Your Caribbean Relish & Ham”. (Or A French Coribieres or Cotes Du Rhone).

Fellow Chef Phil Vickery @chefphilvickery Also Brought The Cooking Creativity As He Made Fishcakes Without The Usual Potatoe Inside And Crispy Breadcrumbs Outside, But Using Ground Almonds Instead. These Squid Prawn & Almond Patties Are A Great Option For Those Who Don’t Like To Mix Their Proteins & Starches. They Pack A Triple Protein Punch Alongside The Christmas Punch. (There Is Always The Non-Alcoholic Belle & Co Bubbly As Above For Those Being Extra Good) Jilly Highlighted The Falls Canadian Reisling For This One (Available At Aldi).

Ainsley’s Post Christmas Caribbean Fish Curry With Spinach

On New Year’s Eve Eve (Friday November 30th) Ainsley Posted A Light Refreshing Recipe To Enjoy After All The Christmas Richness. It’s Simple. It’s Healthy. It’s Tasty & Timely. And It’s Refreshing.

Serves 4. Enjoy With Cous Cous (Ainsley Has His Own Brand Available At Asda) or With Rice or Potatoes. Also Delicious On Its Own. Especially If You Want To Tone Down The Post Christmas Carbs or If You Choose Not To Mix Proteins & Starch.

Ainsley Recommends A Firm White Fish Such As Hake or Cod And Maybe Even Some Prawns Too. Ultimately Use Want You Wish. Being A Good Cook Involves An Element of Experiment. And Personal Satisfaction.

4 X 120g Large Skinless White Fish Fillets. Juice 1⁄2 Lime, 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil, Sea Salt And Freshly Ground Black Pepper. 2 Tbsp Mild Caribbean Curry Powder, 3cm Pieces of Peeled & Finely Grated Fresh Root Ginger, 2 Minced Garlic Cloves. 1 Finely Chopped Scotch Bonnet Chilli, 1 Roughly Chopped Red Pepper, 5 Sliced Spring Onions.

Handful Chopped  Coriander Leaves, 1 Tsp Chopped Thyme Leaves, 100g Spinach
1 X 400g Tin Coconut Milk

Rub The Lime Juice Over The Fish Fillets. Season Wth Salt & Pepper. Add 1 Tbsp The Curry Powder. Set Aside. Heat The Oil In A Deep Frying Pan Over A Medium Heat. Add The Ginger, Spring Onions, Garlic, Scotch Bonnet Chilli & Red Pepper And Cook For 5 Minutes. Stir In Remaining Curry Powder  & Thyme And Cook For Another Minute.

Add The Coconut Milk And Simmer 8–10 Minutes Until Sauce Thickens. Then Add The Fish Simmer Gently For 8–10 Minutes  Until The Fish Flakes Easily.

Place The Spinach & Half The Coriander Leaves Into The Pot Around The Fish Being Careful Not To Crush The Fillets. Gently Serve Up When The Leaves Are Steam.

Garnish With The Remaining Coridaner.
