TheOrator.Press Back Page: The Sport Port. Huge Strides Towards Greater Gender Equality Such As Those Recently Witnessed Worldwide In The FIFA Women’s World Cup Rubiales Case Do Not Automatically Mean That The Same Strides Have Simultaneously Been Made Towards Greater Racial Equality. Despite The Appearance of Progress. So This Fight Has To Continue. As Does The Need For Pro-Active Awareness And Accountability. March 2024
Photo: Luis Rubiales The Manner In Which Rubiales Celebrated Spain’s Win At The FIFA Women’s World Cup Caused International Outrage Including From The La Liga Leader @javier.tebas (See Column Opposite).
Photo: CSD Director Victor Francos. Spain’s CSD (Superior Council of Sport) Announced It Could Take Action Following FIFA’s Suspension of The Former Spanish Football Association President. (Rubiales of The RFEF – Royal Federation of Spanish Football.)@FIFA Finally Decided To Suspend Him The Following Saturday After The Ceremony Scandal (Reported In TheOrator.Press (TO.P) August 2023).
Effectively Dealing With The Problem of Racism Will Take A Truly Team Effort. Thinking Ahead To The Future. And A Fair And Thorough Engagement of All Disciplinary And Legal Facilities Available To The Footballing Authorities. Proactive, Strong And Powerful Leadership. Listening To Victims. Empathy. Inclusion of Victims During Decision Making Processes. Discipline of Racial Abusers Through Formal Channels. And Cooperation or Sanction Between The Clubs, The Football Associations, The Premier League, UEFA And FIFA. And Genuine Football Fans, Football Families And Football Referees. Young Input. And Fresh Thinking. And Hard Talking. Because What’s Been Going On Before Simply Is Not Working Well Enough.
The First Black Player To Be Bought By Liverpool Football Club, John Barnes, Is Right, If We Don’t Recognise That Racism In Rife In Society Then We Can’t Expect Racism To Be Eradicated In Football. He Has Been Saying That For Years Now.
And It Is Way Beyond Time To Listen, Because As Football Commentator (And Googlebox Star) Micah Richards Said On BBC Radio 5 Live During The Monday Night Club Programme Which Aired After The Racist Abuse Displayed On Sunday May 21 2023 At The La Liga Real Madrid v Valencia Match:
It’s not just a football issue, it’s a life that people go through every single day.
Micah Richards, Football Commentator (Former Man City Player)
Whilst Richards @micahrichards Said It Made His Blood Boil, Burnley Manager And Former Manchester City Player Vincent Kompany Posted On Instagram@vincentkompany That His Heart Was Bleeding (Quote 2nd Half, 2nd Column, Opposite).
Chris Sutton, Micah’s Fellow Radio Commentator, And Veteran English And Scottish Premier League Player, Said In No Uncertain Terms of Tebas:
“When you have someone in such a powerful position, to have a Twitter spat with Vinicius Jr, to tell him he is wrong, it’s glaringly obvious to everyone there needs to be change in that position”
It Seems La Liga Were Not Listening Because In December 2023 They Signed Javier Tebas Up For A New Four Year Contract Until December 2027.
He Allegedly ‘Strategically Resigned’ In November 2023 Just A Month Before The European Court of Justice Ruling On The Super League Proposed In 2021 Was Due. Suffice To Say With No One Lined Up To Take His Place At The Helm. He Soon Returned. And Was Given A Contract For Another Four Years!
The Super League Effectively Got The Green Legal Light As The Court Ruled UEFA And FIFA’s Demand For Prior Approval of Any New Competitions Breached A Requirement To Be “transparent, objective, non-discriminatory and proportionate.”
Comment: The Rainbow (A Symbol of Unity, Inclusion And LGBT+ Empathy) In The Above La Liga Javier Tebas Photo Does Not Seem To Chime His Right Wing Conservative Views. This In Itself Is Arguably Illustrative of The Fact That What A Person or Organisation Seemingly Professes Is Not Necessarily Consistent With What They Pracitce.
Photo: Javier Tebas, A Lawyer, A Supporter of Right Wing Spanish Political Party ‘Spanish Vox’, A Supporter of Real Madrid (Ironically). And Head of @La Liga.
By The End of The Summer 2023, Gender Equality Supporters Would Be Proclaiming ‘Contiago Jenni’ Meaning ‘We Are With You Jenni’, After The Former Real Madrid Player Was Kissed Without Her Consent By Rubiales The Royal Spanish Football Federation President.
The Difference In Tone Shown By @javier.tebas, Age 62, As Head of The Spainish Football League When Talking About The Sexist Behaviour of Rubiales On One Hand Compared To Talking About The Racist Behaviour of Crowd Members On The Other, Highlights The Fact That Just Because People Express Support For Gender Equality, It Does Not Automatically Follow That They Also Support Racial Equality.
Tebas, Sunday May 21st 2023 In Response To The Racist Abuse Perpetrated Against Real Madrid Player Vinicius Junior During A Match Against Valencia(He Was Talking To Player Vinicius Junior On Social Media): Advance Comment: We TheOrator.Press (TO.P) Consider This Response Wholly Inappropriate & Demonstrative of A Lack of True Leadership, Empathy or Vision;
“Before you criticise and slander La Liga, you need to inform yourself properly”
“Neither Spain nor La Liga are racist, it is very unfair to say that.“
Tebas, Wednesday August 30th 2023 In Response To The Unconsented Kiss Perpetrated Against La Roja Fem Player Jenni Hermoso (He Was Talking On Social Media): AdvanceComment: We TheOrator.Press (TO.P) Consider This Response Wholly Appropriate & Demonstrative of An Example of True Leadership, Empathy & Vision;
“It is undignified to coerce the National Team players and focus on them or their hot reaction. They are not guilty of the image of Spain given by Rubiales.“
“No opportunism or political hypocrisy justifies that the image of Spain has been represented by a madman touching his genitals, forcing kisses, carrying players like a bag and touching the Queen inappropriately at such an important moment.“
“It is not a question of left or right, Rubiales not only undermined Jenni’s dignity with his attitude, but also that of Spain.“
Comment: Clearly Because He Feels It In His Heart Tebas Could Deliver A Heartfelt Statement Regarding The Rubiales Outrage. (TheOrator.Press (TO.P) Wrote Extensive Detailed Coverage of The Kiss-Gate/Grab-Gate Scandal And Its Fallout In Our August 2023 Issue). Gender Equality And Basic Common Decency Are Essential Throughout Life And Watching The Events Unfold In Real Time We Thought Rubiales Behaviour Notably Odd – Even Before The Unconsented Kiss And Definitely The Outrage Kiss Itself.
Notably The Difference Between The Wholehearted Condemnation of The Rubiales Behaviour By Tebas Compared To His Short Cursory Statement Minimising The Racist Behaviour of Opposition Fans, And Also Attacking Vini Jr Himself So Inappropriately, Speaks Volumnes. The Fact That He Says So Little About It Says So Much About His Position.
The Question Is Why Did He Fail To He Give A More Meaningful Response? And Why Doesn’t He Present More Effective Solutions As Leader of La Liga?
Compare For Instance The Response To The Same Racist Incident As Expressed By Burnley Manager, Vincent Kompany. And Also To The Response To A Seperate More Recent Racist Incident As Expressed By Real Madrid Manager, Carlo Ancellotti.
So Much Has Already Been Endured By Our Fathers And Mothers, Grandfathers And Grandmothers…
And Still The Fight Is Not Over.
Our Children Will Not Grow Up In A World Where Discrimation And Hate Prevails. They Will Know Their Worth And They Will Never Bow Down To Those Who Chose To Discriminate, Seperate And Hate.
Vinicius, You Are Not Alone. We Stand Together And We Are Stronger Than Ever.
Vincent Kompany Burnley Manager (Former Man City Player)
Regarding Further Evidence of Football Racism Friday March 14th 2024 At Two Games Vinicius Was Not Even Playing In (Barcelona-Napoli And Atletico-Madrid) Carlo Ancellotti Said:
The problem is there,
I believe it is.
I am not going to change my opinion.
I think it is necessary to act
and eradicate these problems.
They are very ugly things that affect everyone in our society.
Criminals (who perpetuate racism)
should not be out on the street,
they should be somewhere else.

Photo: Pedro Sanchez. The President of Spain Said The Apology From Rubiales (Monday August 2023) Was Simply Not Good Enough And He Needed To Better Explain Himself.
Hermoso Said She Felt Disrespected. She’s Since Become A Gender Equality Hero As Rubiales Has Exposed Himself To Be A Chauvanistic Egotistical Individual Insisting He’s Innocent.
Both @JenniHermoso And Vinicius Jr. @Vini Jr Have Proven Themselves As World Class Footballers @Real Madrid At Different Stages of Their Careers. Hermoso Now Plays For The Spanish National Team And Is “Champion of The World” As Well As Playing For Mexican Team The Tigers @clubtigresfemenil. Vinicius Is Also A Championship Winner And Currently Remains At @realmadrid.
@aurelientchm And @vinijr Celebrate After Scoring The Two Goals That Saw Real Madrid Beat Las Palmas 2-1 In January 2024.
All Three Goals of The Match Game In The Second Half.
Javi Muñoz For Las Palmas Scored In The 53rd Minute.
And Vinicius And Aurelien In The 65th And 84th Respectively.
The Following Month, On February 2nd 2024 Vinicius Announced He Had Become A Unesco Goodwill Ambassador For Education @unesco
I’ve been fighting for education since I was 19 years old,
and my Institute is gradually developing in Brazil.
Thanks to the support of UNESCO, we’re now going to have a positive impact on the whole world.
New UNESCO Ambassador, Real Madrid Player Vinicius Jr
On Saturday 16 March 2024 The Club Submitted An Official Complaint To The State Prosecutor Regarding Racist And Hateful Abuse At The Barcelona-Napoli And Atletico-Madrid Championships, Requesting Video Evidence From The Security Forces Assigned To Those Matches In The Monjuic And Metropolitan Olympic Stadiums.
Of The Racist Abuse Evidenced On Sunday May 21st 2023, In Comparison To Tebas, Real Madrid Manager Carlos Ancellotti @mrancellotti Posted: “Today has been a sad day in Mestalla, where a group of fans has shown their worst version. It’s time to stop talking and act with force. Racism has no place in football or society. NO TO RACISM ANYWHERE.“
Vinicius @vinijr Posted:“the championship that once belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi today belongs to racists” and “in Brazil, Spain is known as a country of racists”.
As Head of La Liga The Response By Tebas Caused Outrage (See Top of Centre Column Opposite). He Later Apologised. He Had Claimed That Vinicius Did Not Turn Up To Two Meetings ‘To Discuss What Can Be Done In Cases Of Racism’. (But of Course Vini Knows Talk Is Cheap & There’s Only So Much Talking One Can Do). Indeed The Player Responded By Saying Tebas Should Be Targeting The Racists, Not Him, And Taking Punative Action Against Them.
To Add Insult To Injury During A Subsequent 1-0 Defeat Vinicius Received A Late Red Card (Which Was Later Rescinded). The Game Was Paused In The Second Half After He Reported Racist Abuse From Some of The Opposition Fans, Which His Club Registered As A Hate Crime. Just Two Days Later Their Team Was Fined 45,000 Euros And Sanctioned With A Five Match Partial Closure. Also Several People Were Later Convicted.
In August 2023: (The Same Month The Women’s Spanish Football Team Won The FIFA Women’s World Cup) Carlo Ancellotti Was Named La Liga Coach of The Year. In December 2023 Like The Head of La Liga He Too Signed A Contract Extension. His Is To Manage La Laga Up Until June 2026.
So Currently, There Are Now: Two Contract Extensions. Two Very Different Senior Male Football Leaders. Two Recurring Problems. Sexism And Racism. One To Watch!
