Oh yeah, yeah, yeah

Now if there’s a smile on my face
It’s only there trying to fool the public
But when it comes down to fooling you
Now honey, that’s quite a different subject

But don’t let my glad expression give you the wrong impression
Really, I’m sad (sad, sad, sad, sad)
Oh, I’m sadder than sad
You’re gone and I’m hurtin’ so bad Like a clown I pretend to be glad (sad, sad, sad, sad)

Now there’s some sad things known to man
But ain’t too much sadder than the tears of a clown
When there’s no one around.

Oh yeah, baby

Now if I appear to be carefree, it’s only to camouflage my sadness.
In order to shield my pride, I’ve tried to cover this hurt with a show of gladness.

But don’t let my show convince you
That I’ve been happy since you decided to go (why did you go?)
Oh, I need you so (I need you so).
I’m hurt and I want you to know (want you to know)
But for others I put on a show (it’s just a show).

There’s some sad things known to man
But there ain’t too much sadder than the tears of a clown
When there’s no one around, oh yeah baby

Just like Pagliacci did,

I try,

to keep my sadness hid,

Smiling in the public eye,

But in my lonely room I cry,

the tears of a clown,

When there’s no one around.

Oh Yeah, Baby.

Now if there’s a smile on my face
Don’t let my glad expression give you the wrong impression,

Don’t let this smile I wear,

make you think

that I don’t Care.

Really, I’m sad, Hurtin’ so bad.

crying all alone.

The Musical Arrangment At The Start of This Song (Co. Written By Stevie Wonder) Reminded Singer-Songwriter, Smokey Robinson, of The Circus. So When He Wrote The Lyrics To The Music He Called It ‘Tears of A Clown’ And Made Reference To ‘Pagliacchi’. ‘Pagliacchi’ Was A Sad Clown Consumed And Burning Up With Jealousy In The Famous Italian Opera Which Bares His Name.

It Is A Known Fact That Clowns, Like Pagliacchi, Are Often Sad For One Reason or Another.

It Is Also Well Documented That Actors, Comedians And Entertainers Are Often Sad or Shy Individuals. Some Seek Savior At Rehab Clinics. Some Force Themselves To Perform Publicly As A Kind of Curative Self-Help Challenge, And Some Seek To Help Others By Providing Their Audiences With An Entertainment Escape Mechanism From Their Day To Day Misery or Reality For A While In Order To Lift Their Spirits.

As The Sayings Go…

‘The Show Must Go On.’

If You Don’t Laugh You Cry’.

Many A True Word Said In Jest

‘Laughter Is The Best Medicine’.

In March This Year, Having Attended A Mental Health Seminar In Florida And Shared Her Perspective on Mental Health Attitudes And Provisions In The Caribbean, Julie Posted On Her Insta Page That She Has Been Living With A Diagnosis of ‘Borderline Personality Disorder’ Since Being A Little Girl Child Aged Just Eight Years Old.

It’s A Condition She Manages Daily And That Management Allows Her To Maintain A State of So Called ‘Normalcy’.

Her Goal Is To Achieve A State of Being Where Children Who Are “Not Part of The Articulate Minority” or “Who Suffer From Low Self-Esteem” Know That They Are Worthy, Loved, And Not Judged.

And Where Adults

@AFJcares

Clearly Her Jamaican-American Ties Are Very Strong. Quite Like Kamala’s. And In Their Respective Fields They Are Evidently Both Great Achievers.

Clarke, During The 118th Session of Congress, In The United States House of Representatives,  “For Her Positive, Selfless And Boundless Contributions” – “That Define What Makes Brooklyn And Our Nation Great”. @repyvetteclarke

It Was A Multi-Dimensional Review Which Analysed Caribbean Culture, Mental Health, accessing college, and transitioning as a US immigrant.

It’s A Topical Subject. The Repeatative Hateful, Racist, Destructive, Rhetoric of The MAGA Right, Led By A Former American President, Highlights Why It Is So Relevant. Her Talk Which She Called ‘Bigger Than This’ Was Part of An Intergroup Dialogue (IGD) Conference held at the Rockefeller Centre.

Service For Others Is Part of Bodley’s Personality. She’s A Multi-Dimensional Woman Who In 2010 Was Serving In The Jamaican Defence Force As A Lieutenant. Her Mum Sent Her To The Cadets As A Child To Ensure She Had A Positive Source of Discipline And Structured Activity In Her Life (After Her Parents Divorced When She Was Aged 12). But Sometimes Plans Works Out Differently.
