TheOrator.Press: Events Dear Boy. Events! The Royal Albert Hall European Premier of The ‘Black Panther’ ‘Films In Concert’ Series. Film News & Review. Saturday May 27th 2023
The Cast Are So Awesomely Athletic They Make You Want To Get (And Stay) Super Fit. That Suits Bassett Down To The Ground As Supreme Fitness Has Always Been Her Thing, Even Way Back In The Day With ‘Waiting To Exhale’ In Which She Was Stunning.
It Was A Great Screening. The Chineke! Orchestra Were Great As They Always Are And It Was An Added Honour To Be In Their Presence, Watch Them And Listen To Them Live In Conjuction With Such An Iconic Film.
Without Doubt The Star of The Night Was Their Special Guest The Solo Talking-Drum Artist Massamba Diop. His Strength of Messaging Yet Lightness of Touch In Real Time And In Real Life In Front of A Real Live Audience In Tune With The Progression of The Film Gifted An Additional, Visceral, Authentic And Audio Resonance To What Was Already Great Cinematic Storytelling. It Elevated The Film To Another Level We Never Even Knew Existed. And Watching Him Interact With The Audience, Along With The Orchestra And The Guest Conductor – Anthony Parthner, All Working Altogether Was Not A Distraction, As Might Possibly Have Happened, But An Exceptional Enegmatic Elevation. It Was A Refreshing, Awesome, Long Overdue, Powerful, Beautiful, Moving, And Transformative Cinematic And Orchestral Music Experience.
Prior To This European Premier In London The Film Had Two Other Films In Concert Premiers. One At The Los Angeles Hollywood Bowl. And Another At The Kennedy Centre For Performing Arts In Washington DC. Both Are Highlighted In Our Photo Gallery Below (With Links).
