The Black Lives Matter movement shone a light on the overt racism still present in today’s world and the music industry is no exception.
The Black Live in Music Report (2021) showed that although representation of Black, Asian and other ethnically diverse people aged 16-24 was up from 25.9% in 2018 to 30.6% in 2020, much more work needs to be done to better support people from more marginalised ethnicities in the industry.
We’re inspired by the organisations who are doing the really important and challenging work in this area.
