


Here In Britain, Two Police Officers Are To Be Charged With Gross Misconduct After Their Mistreatment of A 15 Year Schoolgirl Known Only As Child Q. She Was Innocent of An Accusation of Being In Possession of Cannabis As She Attended School To Take Her Exams. A Racist Teacher Called The Police On Her And She Was Strip Searched In School By Two Female Officers. Whilst On Her Period.
The Case Led To Outrage And Demonstrations. An Initial Report Concluded That She Was In All Probability Only Subjected To This Mistreatment Because She Is Black. An IOPC Investigation Has Concluded This Month That The Two Officers Must Face A Hearing of Gross Misconduct. If Found Guilty They Can Be Subjected To Instant Dismissal.
The Hearing Date Is Yet To Be Announced.
Meanwhile, In America, A 15 Year Old Black Boy Was Manhandled In School After The Police Called On Him For Allegedly Selling Candy.
Crucial Questions Remain In ‘The African-American Candy Kid Case’ That Have Not Been Addressed By The Two Statements Issued By The School Involved Nor The Related Police Department. If Those Questions Remain Unanswered This Just Appears To Be Yet Another Horrible And Harrowing Example of Two Older, Overweight, Aggressive White Officers Kidnapping, Inappropriately Touching, And Also Brutalizing A Comparatively Skinny Mistreated Black Child. Thus Potentially Making Their Interference With This Child Illegal, Criminal And Immoral.
There Are So Many Flaws In The Statements Given By The School And The School Resource Officers (SROs) Involved It Seems Clearer Answers Might Well Be Demanded By Lawyers Who May Yet Come To Represent This Child And His Father, Who Is Supporting Him.
This Case Involves An Alleged Incident of A Young Child Engaging In The Childhood Enterprise of Simply Selling Candy At School. And If True, As Dr Richie Points Out In His Reporting of The Case. It Could Have, Should Have, And Would Have Been A Moment of Innovative Teaching, Had All The Adults In The Room ‘Chosen’ To Act More Professionally, Reasonably And Honestly.
But No. Instead They Did What Racists Do. Even In School! They Chose To Call The Police On A Black Human Being In Circumstances Where It Was Unwarranted, Heavy-Handed And An Abuse of Power. And The Police Were Happy To Oblige Those Racists. And As Ever, They Escalated The Situation. Instead of De-escalating It. Once Again Demonstrating A Chronic Lack of Basic Manners, Communication Skills And A Huge Lethal Lust For Thuggery And Heavy-Handedness.

“The School Administration Have Worked Collaboratively With The Student’s Custodial Parent To Ensure The Young’s Man’s Need Are Being Met.”
Why Is The Head of Comms Writing This Statement And Not The School Principle or Assistant Principle?
When Did They Begin To Work “Collaboratively With The Student’s Custodial Parent To Ensure The Young’s Man’s Need Are Being Met?” Because It Certainly Wasn’t When The Police Were Called On Him And They Bruised His Arm, Nor When He Was Asking Them To Get off of Him And They Threatened To Put Them In Handcuffs, Nor When They Pinned Him To The Ground And He Was Shouting That He Was Being Hurt.
And When Did “Comms” Get Involved Such That They Are Able To Relay This Version of Events, Because Presumably “Comms” Wasn’t There?

A School Resource Officer (SRO) Observed A School Administrator And A Juvenile Male Involved In A Disturbance At The School.
The Juvenile Was Exhibiting Confrontational Behaviour And The Juvenile Became Confrontational Again And Uncooperative With School Staff
What Exactly Did Z-15 Do That The SRO Deemed “Confrontational Behaviour”
Why Is This Statement Only Talking About Z-15’s Behaviour What Was The Behaviour of The School Administrator?
How Did The SRO Happen To Be Present To Have “Observed” The Situation In The First?
At What Point Did ‘The School Staff’ Join ‘The School Administrator’ And Why?
Why Did The SRO Detain Z-15 For Investigatory Purposes, If He Had Already Observed The Situation? And Why Did He Have His Hands All Over The Child Instead of Simply Talking To Him Politely And Asking Him To Accompany The SRO’s To An Officially Designated Detention Room?
Why Did The SRO’s Walk Z-15 Down The Corridor And Then Back Up The Corridor?
How & Why Did Z-15 End Up On The Floor?
And Why Were So Many Adults (4 In Addition To The Two SROs) Standing Around Just Watching?
Why Were The School Staff And The School Administrator Not “Detained For Investigatory Purposes”?
If Z-15 And His Father Successfully Sue The School or Police Department or Both, Where Does The Money Come From If Either One of Them Is Found Legally Liable?

Firstly, Why Is The Language “Caught” Selling Candy?
Was He Hiding The Fact That He Was Selling Candy – And – If So Why?
Where Are The Written Rules of The School Such That The Sale of Candy Is Not Allowed In The School? And What Are The Associated Rules Pertaining To The Disciplinary Process In Relation To The Selling of Candy In Schools? Where’s The Official Warning Before Calling The Police In? Where’s The Consultation With A Parent Before Calling The Police In? Where’s The Teaching Initiative In Terms of Setting Up An Age Appropriate School Candy Distribution Scheme – At A School Fare For Instance or Other Appropriate School Event, As An Inspirational, Motivational, Educational Alternative?
Secondly, Who Actually Reported Him For Selling Candy And Why? Did or Does Anyone Else Sell Candy In The School? If So, What Happened To Them In Comparison?
Thirdly, Why Is It That ‘Someone’ Other Than The Child’s Own Class Teacher – Who Was Apparently Left Completely In The Dark As To The Situation – Has Been Allowed To Interfere In His School Life To The Extent That They’ve Called The Police On Him And Apparently Gotten Away With Doing That. When, The Consequences Were So Dire For Him – But Apparently Not For Them. Namely With What Authority Did They Engage With This Child, In This Way, In The Very First Place?
4. Repeated Threats To Put The Child In Handcuffs
Threats Are Made By The Officers To Put The Child In Handcuffs Unless The Child Is “Good”.
What Does The Officer Mean By Good? And Where Is The Authority For Him To Make Such A Threat Under The Circumstances? And If This Child Is Simply Being Detained For “Investigatory Purposes” Why Didn’t The Officers Simply, Politely, And Civilly, Ask The Child To Come With Them To The School Designated Detention Room – Instead of Putting Their Hands All Over Him – Which For Their Stated Purpose Was Totally Unnecessary?
The Circumstances Are These:-

He Is Told “Be Good”. “If You Don’t Stop, You’re Going In Handcuff.”

One Is Visibly Obese And Bearded. And He Has Imposed His Big Body On The Frame of This Thin Small Boy. By Yanking At The Childs, From The Socket Area, By Placing His Own Arm Up Under The Child’s Armpit & Bicep Area, With His Fist Clenched And Executing A Pulling Motion. And With His Other Hand Around The Child’s Wrist, Pressing The Child’s Wrist Back And Pressing Down On It, As If To Snap The Wrist At Any Moment.
This Is Why The Child Is Repeatedly Requesting “Get Off of Me” “Get Off of Me” “Get Off of Me”.

Why Does The Other Officer or One of The Other Adults Present (An African-American Man In A Black Shirt, Blue Waist, & White Tie – Or – The Caucasian Man In A White/Cream Outfit) Say “You’re Going To Hurt Yourself Buddy”?
Why Is He Calling Him Buddy, When He’s Complicit In His Mis-handling And Traumatization?
Did He Plan On Hurting Him Just Because He Was Saying “He’s Got A Bruise On My Arm.” “Get Off of Me.” “Look!” “Look!” “This Man.” “Got His Arm All On Me.”…?
How Exactly Does He Think Z-15 Is Going To Hurt Himself?

And How Can It Be That That Procedure Does Not Include As Part of The Process, The Official Adults Involved Duly Informing The Child’s Teacher (s) of The Suspension?

It Is Reported That Z-15 Was Given De-Merits On His School Record Because The Official Adults Involved Failed To Inform His Class Teacher of His Suspension (For Non-Compliance – With What or Whom Remains Unclear Currently – Based On The Current Reporting).
Why Should He Have To Pay For The Error of These Adults?
And In Turn Why Are These “De-Merits” Not Removed From His School Record And His School Record Duly Amended?
And Why Are These Adults Not Being Duly Reprimanded? After All Which Is Worse, State Funded School Officials Messing Up A Child’s School Records – or – A Kid Selling Candy At School?
And Where Is The Apology From The School To Z-15 For This Error?
How Could His Teacher Be So Lacking In Interest As To The Reason For His Sudden Absence? And How Could A Legitimate Disciplinary Procedure Be Such That A Child Is Suspended From School For 5 Days (For Non-Compliance – With What Remains Unclear) And Nobody Informs His Teacher? And What Proper Official Procedure Was Followed (Or Not) In Terms of That Same (Consequently Ignorant) Teacher Subjecting Him To De-merits And His Subsequent Expulsion From School?

What Is The Official Established Institutional Norm And Where Exactly Is That Defined?
Why Exactly Is Z-15 Considered “A Disturbance To The Institutional Norm” -And Who Exactly Made That Official Judgement?
What Procedural Right of Appeal Did He And His Father Have In Terms of That Judgement?
And Is Not, Calling The Police On A Child In School Not The Greater “Disturbance To The Institutional Norm?”
And Bearing In Mind The Police Department Involved Have Admitted They Are Not Cognoscente of The School’s Disciplinary Code of Conduct, With What Procedural Authority And Within What Procedural “Institutional Norm” Did These “School Resource Officers” Threaten To Put This Child In Handcuffs In Response To Him Repeatedly Saying To These Hefty Heavy-Handed Individuals “Get Off of Me”? Especially Bearing In Mind The Child Was Not Read His Miranda Rights, Was Not Apparently Being Arrested And Was Simply Being Detained For “Investigatory Purposes”?
10. The School Administration
Who Exactly Constituted “The Administration” In This Case (The Administration Which Z’s Father Told Dr. Richie About Where Dr. Richie Reports “The Administration Did Not Inform Z-15’s Teacher That Z-15 Had Been Suspended?
And What Professional Consequence Has There Been For This Apparent Communication Failure By The Administration? Why – And How – Is It That Z-15 Is Being Made To Pay For It, But They Appear To Be Getting Away With It? That’s Patently Not Right Professionally! They Should Be Held Accountable For Their Action And/or Inaction. Deliberate, Negligent or Otherwise!
No Doubt There Will Be Continued Closer Examination of This Case And Its Progress Will Be Monitored Closely. Sadly This Is Just One Example of Several Horror Stories of Mistreatment of Black Children In Schools By Teachers And Other Adults Within The School System.
What A Case Such As This Teaches Kids Is That Those In Charge Aren’t Always The Smartest Ones And Nor Do They Always Do What’s Right. And Sometimes They Behave Unfairly And Even Seem To Cheat.
We Salute Dr Richie’s Consistent Great Reporting And Story Sharing. And We Salute The Courage of Ziekel And His Father In Confronting These Heavy-Handed Adults Behaving Like School Bullies, Setting Ugly Examples of Chronically Bad Leadership. Cowardice Is A Weakness. Courage Is A Strength. It Is Obvious Which of The Parties Have Real Class In Amongst This Group of People.
