Question 4 of 7 – What’s The Best Picture You Ever Took? Is There A Picture Someone Else Took That You Rate, Love or Like? And – Do You Name Your Pictures?

Every Picture Has A Story.
Every Picture Should Have A Name
Because
It’s Important To Remember And To Chronicle That Journey.
So, Yeah, My Pictures Do Have Names

Judges & Judgements

Labroke Grove 1959: The Kelso Case – Notably The Majority of Those Incarcerated After The 1958 Race Riots Were The White Racists Who Went Down The Street Attacking The Homes of Windrush Residents (After Attacking Swedish Majbritt Morrison For Having A Jamaican Husband).

Much of This White Violence Against The Windrush Generation Was Stirred Up By Racist Politician Oswald Mosely, His Gang of Street Thugs And His Supporters, And Some (Not All) British Elvis And Rock n Roll Fans Known As Teddy Boys. Flick Knives Were Often Their Preferred Weapon of Choice. This Was The Original Knife Crime Epidemic. Oswald Resoundingly Lost The Next Local Election. And The Teddy Boys Lost Popularity Too.

Judge Justice Salmon Wanted To Send A Deterrent (Including 5 Year Sentences) – Despite Police Efforts Even Back Then To Try And Protect Them By Denying A Racial Element Was Involved – Which Is What They Officially Reported To Home Secretary of The Day Raab Butler. [As Revealed In Officially Released Archive Papers In 2002.]

Whatever Became of The Government Ordered Enquiry Into Race Relations Chaired By Amy Garvey (Wife of Marcus Garvey) Not As Widely Well Known As It Should Be. But What The Community Wanted Known, In No Uncertain Terms, Is That Kelso’s Killing Was Not What They Wanted At All.

The Attendance of 1,200 Mourners At His Funeral, St. Michaels Church, Labroke Grove, Was An Effective Demonstration of Deterrent, By The People (Which Came After January’s First Indoor Carnival)!

NB; Carnival Was Claudia’s Activism Legacy. She Helped Defeat Oswald Mosely – And – Her Carnival Spirit Lives On Today.

In January 2023 A Blue Plaque By The The Nubian Jak Community Trust Was Erected At The Former Vauxhall Home of Claudia Jones (Pictured Below). 65 Years After Her First Caribbean ‘Mardi Gras Style Festival, Preluding The Notting Hill Carnival.

Labroke Grove 1971: The Mangrove 9 Case – Justice Edward Clarke Noted That There Was A Lot of Racial Hatred On Both Sides. The Police, Ever In Denial About Racism In Policing, Were Outraged And Urged Him To Retract His Statement. Naturally He Declined. It Was The First Time Racism Within The Police Was Ever Judicially Acknowledged. The Oratory of Darcus Howe (Who Was Legally Trained But Never Qualified As A Lawyer) Became Legendary As The 9 Defendants Fought Back Against Trumped Up Police Charges After Taking Part In A Demonstration Against Police Harassment of Local Caribbean Restaurant ‘The Mangrove’ Frequented By Stars And Locals.

New Cross: The New Cross Fire 18 January 1981 “13 Dead And Nothing Said” Was The Slogan of The New Cross Massacre Action Committee Set Up To Support The Families of Those Who Lost Loved Ones In The Fire (Believed By Locals And The Wider Black Community To Be A Racist Arson Attack). As Ever The Police Played Down Any Racist Motive, Dragged Their Feet On The Investigation, And Even Theorized That The Fire Was Started By Partygoers Themselves (A Classic Narrative By Police Who Have No Genuine Interest In Properly Investigating Clear Criminal Wrongdoing). The Local Coroner Returned An Open Verdict. That Led To A Demonstration March From New Cross To Parliament.

MET Police, Ever Insensitive To The Black Community, Chose To Engage In Police Brutality. The Demonstration, March 2nd 1981, Was Known As The National Black People’s Day of Action – Organized By Darcus Howe And Other Activists. Tens of Thousands of People Travelled To London From All Over The Country To Take Part. Given The Shabby Police Behaviour And The Press Coverage It Proved To Be The Precursor To The Brixton Riots A Month Later. Thatcher’s Conservative Government Notorious For It’s Coldness & Anti-Immigration Stance Was Central To The Problem.

The Royal Family And The New Cross Fire: A Notable Royal Fact Associated With This Demonstration Is That The Royal Family Finally Stood Up And Paid Attention. Part of The Problem Was They Had Failed To Engage With The Black Community In Their Hour of Need But Yet Sent Condolences To Ireland When A Tragic Fire Also Happened There Within A Week. The Comparisons Could Not Be Avoided.

Following The Community Outcry Against The Royal Familly In The Midst of This Tradegy, Together With The Latter Day Work of People Like Patrick Vernon Who Campaigned For A Windrush Day, And The Establishment of The Windrush Committee Which Includes Involvement From The Aforementioned Rudolph Walker, The Judgement of The Royal Family Has Vastly Improved. They Have Made Huge Strides In Engaging With The Afro-Caribbean Community. Almost Beyond Recognition.

Prince Harry’s Personal Protest Against Depression And Royal Dogma

[Nonetheless We Cannot Help But Observe That Meghan Markle, The Bi-Racial Caucasion And African-American Wife of Harry Prince of Wales, Deserves Much Better Than The Way They’ve Treated Her. As Does Harry And The Way They’ve Treated Him.]

Prince Harry’s 2023 Award- Winning Biography ‘Spare’ Is Well Worth The Read! You Get The Inside Picture Straight From The Horses Mouth (As It Were). Not The Sickly Saccharine Pro Princess Katherine Narrative Forced Down The Nation’s Throat By A (Still) Biased Press Stating ‘Anonymous Sources’ That Conveniently And All Too Easily Go ‘Unchallenged And Uncross-examined’. Clearly Curated Out of A Jealously of Meghan And Harry’s Star Power. The Press Bullying, By Some Quarters, Day In Day Out, Is Ironically, Self-Evident.

The Racist Troupes Abound For All To See. For Example:-

  • Accusing Meghan of Things She Never Did (But That Were Done By A White Person Instead).
  • Disregard For Her Medical Condition (Whilst Pregnant).
  • Skin Colour Concerns (Regarding Meghan And Harry’s First Baby – Before It Was Even More)
  • Disregard For Her Feelings And Emotional Wellbeing.
  • Disregard For Her Medical Suffering
  • Discrimination of Nutrition
  • Discrimination In Housing
  • Dismissal of Their Narrative

It Is All Counterproductive Though Because We Cannot Help But Notice For Instance There Was;

  • No Statement From William Nor Katherine Clarifying That It Was Her Who Made Meghan Cry During Her Wedding Preparations, Not Vice-Versa.
  • No Statement From William Nor Katherine After It Was Finally Revealed That It Was Katherine Who Asked About The Baby’s Skin Colour When Meghan Was Pregnant.
  • No Statement From William Nor Katherine When Meghan Was (Shamefully And Disgustingly) Attacked For (Naturally Repeatedly) Touching Her Baby Bump.
  • No Statement From William Nor Katherine, Despite Originally Being Parg of The Fab Four Promoting Mental Health And Wellbeing As The Princes Opened Up About Losing Their Mother, After Meghan Revealed That She Felt Suicidal Due To The Mistreatment By The Royals And Their Courtiers.
  • No Statement From William Katherine After Meghan Miscarried (Suspected Due To Accumulative Stress) As A Result of Her Continued Mistreatment
  • No Statement From William Nor Katherine When Avocados Where Deemed Great For Katherine But Not For Meghan
  • A Statement From The Royal Household of Just 4 Sentences One of Which Included “Whilst Recollections May Vary, They Are Taken Very Seriously And Will Be Addressed Privately” (March 2021 After The Oprah Interview). It Was Cleverly Self-Serving And Clearly Unsupportive & Dismissive. Exactly As It Was Crafted To Be (By As The Late Princess Diana Previously Called Them “The Men In Grey Suits”).

Reading Harry’s POV In His Autobiography ‘Spare’ Makes The Picture So Much Clearer. Plus, Big Respect Goes Out To Him For Having The Courage To Mount His Own Protest Taking On The Very Powerful And Manipulative Institution He Was Born Into – Literally And Legally.

[With Which He Has Achieved A Significant Amount of Success].

Judges & Judgements [Continued]

Brixton April 1981; The Brixton Riots – Following The National Black People’s Day of Action – Organized By Darcus Howe And Other Activists – The Month Before – Plus The Continued Police Lies, Harassment, And Brutality, Together With Biased Press Coverage – Race Relations Were On A Knife Edge. They Ultimately Exploded Into The Brixton Riots of April 1981. The Stop And Search Laws And The Police Abuse Thereof Had Gone Too Far. Enough Was Enough And Actually Already Too Much. Things Came To An Explosive Head. Much of The Confrontational Battle Between The Police And The People Took Place Down Brixton’s Railton Road. Impromptu Protests Broke Out And Lasted For Three Days Over The Weekend of Friday April 10th.

In November Lord Scarman Delivered Another Government Report Which Was Commissioned Within Days of The Riot Coming To An End. The Police, Lambeth Council, The Commission For Racial Equality As It Was Then (1976-2007) – Now The Equality And Human Rights Commission (EHRC – Since 2007) – And Local Community Groups Gave Evidence. Born In Streatham, Scarman Was Able To Effectively Appeal To The Community As ‘A Man of The People‘ (Notwithstanding He Went To Private School, Oxford University And Was A Member of The House of Lords).

He Concluded That The Riots Had Not Been Planned, But Both Sides Were To Blame, And They Constituted The Worst Outbreak of Disorder In The UK For A Century. He Was Frustratingly Equivocal By Saying “Rightly or Wrongly” It Was Based On The Belief That Black People Were Being Harassed By The Police.

However He Did Acknowledge That It Did Not Help That The Police Called Their Stop And Search Operation ‘Operation Swamp’. [Thatcher Had Used The Phrase ‘Swamp or Be Swamped’ When Previously Referring To Immigration.] Accordingly He Suggested New Police And Government Tactics Instead of ‘Swamping Brixton With Military Style Equipment And Extra Officers’. To Him, Community Based Policing, More Officers From Ethnic Minorites, And Government Efforts To End Social And Economic Disadvantage Seemed Better Ideas.

He Was Also An Advocate of Introducing A Freedom of Information (FOI) Act And The Incorporation of The European Human Rights Convention Into A UK Bill of Rights. Both Eventually Happened And Have Since Been Very Helpful In The Fight For Justice And Uncovering Cover-Ups And Corruption.

Reverend Jessie Jackson Orates At The 7th Anniversary Watts Concert 1972, Commemorating The 1965 Police Brutality Watts Riots; He Later Compares Brixton To Harlem, New York, As He Supports The Community During A Tour In 1983, As The-Would-Be Democratic Presidential Nominee’.

Notably A Significant Number of African-American Hollywood And Political Stars Have Made A Point of Visiting Brixton Over The Years Following The 1981 Brixton Riots. These Include Oscar-Winning Singer-Songwriter, Rapper And Actor Common @Common Who Posed With Brixton Village General Manager, Diana @brixton.village; Singer & Africa Ambassador Akon @akon, @brxtnvillagestudios Legendary Actor Turned (Excellent) Documentary Maker Samuel L. Jackson @samuelljackson And Superfit Oscar-Winning Actor (For Sinners: Best Actors Oscar 2026) Michael B. Jordan @michealbjordan. Also The Late Great Reverand Dr.Martin Luther King Protege, Reverand Jessie Jackson, Who Was Also On Good Terms With Legendary Director Spike Lee And Various Other African-American Celebrities And Activists, Including Fellow Supreme Orator, Muhammed Ali.

Photo (1983) of The Late Jessie Jackson (Who Returned Home To Heaven From Earth Last Month). The Morning Star Newspaper Reported On His 1983 Brixton Visit With The Headline “We’re Backing Brixton” Reflecting His Campaign’s Support For The Brixton Community After The Riots of 1981 Due To Police Harassment.

Describing The Area As A Ghetto Comparable To Harlem, New York He Said “There Is A Parallel Treatment of Blacks, Business Is Basically White, The Police Are Basically White And Blacks Are Unemployed”.

On August 20th 1972, The 7th Anniversary of The LA Watts Riots of 1965, Jackson Made A Speech At The Annual Commemorative Stax Watts Musical Festival (aka The Black Woodstock) That Would Forever Seal His Reputation For Oratory.

In 1965 The LAPD, In The Watts Neighbour of Los Angeles, Sparked Riots After The Violent Arrest of 21 Year Old African-American Man, Marquette Frye, And The Police Baton Face-Battering of His Mother, Within The Background of Unemployment, Discrimination, Institutional Racism, And Subsequent Poverty. Six Day’s of Rioting Saw California’s National Guard Called In, Thrity Four Deaths And Property Damage Estimated At $40m.

Jackson’s Chicago Based Operation PUSH (People United To Serve Humanity) Included The PUSH-Excel Initiative Designed To Inspire Black Students Into Embracing The Power And Importance of Political Organising And Solidarity Within The Political Arena. He Alluded To It In His 1972 Musical Festival Speech And Added The Words of Rev William Holmes Borders Sr – Who Had Said: “I Am Somebody” 20 Years Earlier.

His Message Was That In Order To Fight The System The People Needed To Shift From “Burn Baby Burn” of Rioting To “Learn Baby Learn” of Intelligent Fighting. His Foreign Policy Was Focused On Peace, Correcting Poverty, Building Equality, Overcoming Systemic Racism, Global Activism, Solidarity, And Anti-Apartheid.

His 1984 Presidential Bid Campaign Was Based On The Concept of “A Rainbow Coalition” Of Minorities Including Women. Although Both His 1984 And 1988 Presidential Campaign Failed, His 1988 Defeat Speech Was So Powerful And Passionate Urging People “To Keep Hope Alive” That Is Exactly What They Did. In 2008 He Famously Cried Tears of Joy When President Barack Obama Was Elected On His Own Political Campaign Slogan “Yes We Can”.

The MET Police Have Historically, Repeatedly, Arrogantly, And All Too Casually, Ignored Judges & Inquiries For All Too Long

The Macpherson Report 1999:

As Well As The 1999 Momentous Declaration That The Metropolitan Police Were “Institutionally Racist” Lord Justice Macpherson Also Concluded That There Had Been A Failure of Leadership By Senior Metropolitan Police Officers, The Initial Investigation Had Been Incompetent AND The Recommendations of The Lord Justice Scarman Report Into The 1981 Brixton Riots [Caused By Continued Police Harassment of The Black Community] Were Largely Ignored. He Made 70 New Recommendations, Including The Abolition of The Double Jeopardy Laws (Which Actually Happened And Allowed For The Norris/Dobson Convictions of 2021). He Also Suggested Various Reforms Within The Civil Service, NHS, The Education System, The Justice System And The Police To Combat Institutional Racism. Once Again, Most Appear To Have Been Wilfully Ignored.

Judge Coleman Treacy After The Dobson/Norris Convictions 2012:

Appeal Judge, Justice Treacy Commented In His Remarks After The Conviction of Gary Dobson And David Norris Based On New Forensic Evidence Uncovered By DCI Driscoll And His Team During A 2006 Review of The Cas, That They Should Be Commended For Their “Meticulous And Faultless” Investigation Leading Up To The 2012 Trial. In Comparison He Said That The Original Investigation By The MET “Shamed And Humbled” The Police. He Also Urged Driscoll And His Team To Continue Their Investigation In Order To Apprehend Dobson And Norris’s Associates. The Judge Had Also Commended Him On The Trust He Had Built With Doreen And Neville Lawrence.

In Response The MET Closed Down Driscoll’s Team, Forced His Retirement And Asked Him To Lie To The Lawrence Family By Saying That’s What He Wanted.

Whilst Driscoll Was Forced To Retire, He Could Not And Would Not Lie To The Lawrence Family. He Was Transparent With Them. And He Was Later Transparent With Us. TheOrator.Press (T.O.P) Interviewed DCI Driscoll After The Excellent ITV Drama ‘Stephen’ Was Broadcast (2021). The MET Were Exposed Once Again For What They Officially And Judicially Repeatedly Choose To Be. Namely “Institutionally Racist”.
